Living in the midst of politically raging conditions must be so hard, especially for those who are counter to an authoritarian government. As experienced by Jaya (Tio Pakusadewo), he had to leave his homeland and lose his citizenship due to his opposition to the President Soeharto's government and was accused of being a communist.

He continued his new part of life to Prague, a beautiful city in Czech Republic. He went to a college and worked part-time to earn a living. He began a new life there under the shadow of his family and his love.

He always attempted to send some letters to Sulastri (Widyawati), his beloved woman in Indonesia. He wrote about a lot of things to her including his two promises; to make her the only love he would have and to go home and soon marry her. But unfortunately, none of those letters were replied. He kept writing other letters to Sulastri even she had got married to another man. Since the ignorance of his letters, jaya was seriously prejudiced against her.

Time run so fast. Sulastri was getting older and older and she passed away. Larasati (Julie Estelle), the only Sulastri’s daughter wanted to listen to her mother’s last will and testament and asked the inheritance as soon as possible because she needed a lot of money to disburse her divorce proceedings from her husband. But, it said that she could get all of the inheritance after she succeeded to realize one requirement; sending a little box of letters to Jaya who lived in Prague.

Although she met Jaya by herself, the submission was not easy. Evidently, Jaya knew the girl who he met and brought him a little box. He had promised to himself to forget all memories in the past. Larasati was confused and she got nothing but bad luck because a taxi driver roped her wallet and suitcase.

Pressed by circumstances, finally Jaya helped Larasati and allowed her to stay in his house for a while. Larasati frequently asked Jaya why he rejected the box instead of receiving it. But again, Jaya just kept silent without any response.

One day, Larasati opened the box and read all the letters in it. She got hang of them and accused Jaya as the one who caused her parents' divorce which affected in her unhappy life all this time. She totally blamed him but Jaya disproved and explained what had actually happened.
